Mrs. Maiello’s Kindergarten class led a beautiful prayer service on Wednesday, featuring the many ways we can sacrifice as we journey through the desert with Christ during Lent. We were all impressed with how well spoken and reverent the students in Mrs. Maiello’s class were … thank you, Kindergarten!
Sixth grade students spent time with their first grade prayer partners this week in an epic Easter egg hunt that had a math twist! The sixth graders spread plastic eggs on the playground, filled with math problems for the first graders to solve. Working in prayer partner teams, the students chose five eggs each and worked to solve the math problems inside. Each correct answer earned the students a small candy treat! What the sixth graders didn’t know is that there were “big kid” math problems inside some of the eggs … solving those equations took a little longer, but yielded the same sweet results (and some impressed looks from their first grade friends). Thank you to the sixth grade class for acting as friends and role models for their prayer partners.
Everyone’s Irish on St Patrick’s Day! Especially at Espiritu Santo, where young students are learning about the Holy Trinity through the teachings of St Patrick. Leprechauns caused their usual mischief in the classrooms, but try as they may, our students have yet to catch one!
