Alumni Spotlight: Riley Miller Becomes Eagle Scout

Please join us in congratulating Riley Miller. Riley is an ESCS graduate of the class of 2017 who now attends Tampa Catholic High School. He started his scouting adventure in first grade as a Tiger Cub in Pack 487 at Espiritu Santo Catholic Church. After earning his Arrow of Light in 2014, he became a Boy Scout. Riley has continued his scouting adventures at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. During the past five years of scouting, Riley has attended seven summer camps completed many merit badges and enjoyed two high adventure camps. Last summer, he completed his Eagle Scout project at St. Paul Catholic Church where he erected a statue of St. Padre Pio. With the help of many of his school and scouting friends, Riley had to dig a three-foot hole, fill it with concrete, and then build a pedestal using bricks that would hold and secure the statue. Once the statue was secure, he had to stucco the base, paint and landscape the pedestal and the area surrounding it. The entire process took several weeks. Upon completion, St. Paul had a dedication ceremony attended by many family, friends, and parishioners. If you are ever in the Carrollwood area, you should stop by to see it. It is quite beautiful! On Tuesday, August 7th, after a nine-year journey in Scouting, Riley culminated his experience with his Eagle Scout Board of Review. After passing that final step, Riley has earned the distinct title of Eagle Scout.
