A sincere thanks to our Helping Hands Ministry Team, and especially to all the meal packing volunteers and workers who came together on Saturday, March 17, 2018 to share their time and talent in support of our eighth Espiritu Santo Helping Hands meal packaging. Together, in partnership with Catholic Relief Services (CRS) and Rise Against Hunger, we were able to package another 20,088 Fortified Rice-Soy Meals to be shipped to Burkina Faso, in Africa.
Your involvement in this Ministry helped feed our poor neighbors overseas and participated in helping to reduce global poverty. And the Good News is that over the past decade, the number of hungry people around the world has declined by more than 100 million.
In addition, your efforts also support CRS programs that assist people in Burkina Faso to develop skills so they can become economically independent. Those receiving the meals we packaged will learn new ways to earn an income through basic skills taught by CRS, such as how to grow a garden, make clothing or raise poultry.
The success of this Helping Hands ministry depends on committed volunteers, dedicated to living out the gospel message of feeding the poor and hungry. However, funding for this ministry is completely from donations, which are tax deductible.
Thanks again to all our generous benefactors and committed volunteers. Please pray that this outreach ministry will continue to bear much fruit in helping to build God’s Kingdom. And may our welcoming community of Espiritu Santo Church and School always be a true blessing to those in need.
